No one burns money quite like a Taurus — it's practically in our DNA. And conveniently, Taurus season arrives right alongside spring, which means we have both a biological excuse and an astrological mandate to refresh everything around us. New season, new life, new candles. There’s nothing like opening the windows, a deep clean, and a beautiful candle burning as the finishing touch. With that, here's a roundup of my favorite candles and home scents to welcome the season, curated naturally with a Taurus sensibility for quality, luxury, and things that make a space feel deeply lived-in and alive.

Sometimes spring just feels like desire, and that's exactly what this candle encapsulates. It's sensual, warm, and deeply feminine — a strong, confident way to open the season. The notes include wild rose, lily, white musk, moss, leather, and blackcurrant, and I get the white musk and wild rose most prominently. What makes it so interesting is that tension between the freshness of the florals and those warmer, more grounded, seductive base notes. Modeled after the Chateau Marmont, it absolutely earns the reference. Whether you're having a sleepover at the Chateau with Lindsay Lohan, Lady Gaga, and Ellen von Unwerth or getting into something a little more scandalous, this is the candle for it.

This might be the quintessential rainy day candle. London has notes of earl grey tea, vanilla musk, dried lavender, wisteria, and honey, and the earl grey and lavender combination is front and center for me. The other florals keep it from going too cozy, but ultimately this is a deeply romantic scent, romantic in the sense of being in love with yourself and your own company. Every time I smell it, I want to pull on a cashmere sweater and listen to rain hit the windows. Hotel Lobby Candle has excellent projection across their whole line, and London is no exception. It fills a room without overwhelming it, which is honestly the mark of a really well-made candle imo. They do also have a diffuser!

This one takes a different turn. Yes / No / Maybe feels like being deep in the archives, like going through old photo albums, vintage media, or a box of things you forgot you loved. Notes of fresh air, coriander seed, black pepper, ink, pencil shavings, sawdust, oak, cedar, and wild rose make it an overwhelmingly woody candle, but not a heavy one. The coriander in particular brings a lift that keeps things from feeling too serious, and the floral notes round it out just enough. It's a great daytime burn.

Spring is about healing and new beginnings, and water has always felt restorative to me, cleansing but also filling. Translucent Shifts captures that perfectly. Notes of key lime, lemongrass, verbena, tea leaves, and maté make it feel watery and bright without being generic. It's ethereal but present, and if you want a candle that genuinely opens and refreshes a space, this is the one. Liis does this well across their line. Reyes and their Neroli Weather are similar in energy, all very light and delicate but surprisingly powerful. They also have a really nice projection for a home office or smaller living room, filling the space without ever feeling like too much.

Taurus season demands luxury, and what better way to deliver than with a status symbol candle. Nothing does it quite like Trudon. Figuerie, inspired by the royal fig trees in the royal gardens, is a perfect fit for the season. Top notes of cedar leaf, fig leaves, and hyacinth give it that ethereal, green freshness, while the base of sandalwood, tonka beans, patchouli, and moss crystals keeps it grounded and warm. Fig, at least for me, screams Taurus, it’s opulent and luxurious. You feel the heritage of this brand in everything: the packaging, the burn, the way it fills a room. There's nothing quite like it.

Radiance in Bloom by Glasshouse
If you want something that is unambiguously spring, this is your candle. Radiance in Bloom has notes of water lily, sea salt, bergamot, jasmine, tuberose, geranium, orchid, musk, ambergris, and vetiver — it's lush, it's fresh, and it reminds me of that exact moment when bluebells and daffodils start appearing and everything feels new again. It also reminds me of a beautiful bouquet of flowers that's just so overpowering in the best way, incredibly sophisticated. Glasshouse has exceptional projection across their whole line, and this one is no exception. A diffuser option is also available if candles aren't your thing.

As spring starts to taper into summer, I start craving something a little more coastal. Montecito delivers that with notes of cedarwood, eucalyptus, and jasmine buds, fresh and elevated with just enough warmth. It's inspired by Montecito, as in Meghan Markle's Montecito, and it absolutely has that air of effortless sophistication. This one is lovely in a bedroom or bathroom, calm and luxurious without demanding too much attention.

Oribe does everything right, and this candle is no exception. Desertland is warm and dry, with notes of juniper berry, lavender, pine, and cedarwood that come together in a way that feels like a desert landscape or a really beautiful sauna moment. I do think that this candle could be a little stronger, it’s best for a small space, or like a special moment. I like it for special baths when I wanna relax! I haven't had any issues with tunneling, which is always a concern with a new candle. It's a perfect one to reach for when it starts to get a little warm out. I will say I did buy in in part for the vessel, I wanna reuse it around my house. They also carry it in incense and fragrance form, and honestly all of it is on my list.

I love a brand that offers smaller versions of their candles. It's the best way to get familiar with a line before committing, and it's also just a really nice way to explore different fragrances, see how they burn, and see how everything comes together. The Quiet Botanist's sample set includes six of their top-selling blends, and I'm particularly excited about Orchard Sun, which leans neroli and orange. It also makes a genuinely lovely gift for anyone who loves home fragrance but hasn't quite found their scent yet.
Whether you're deep-cleaning for the season or simply want to reset the energy in your space, the best candles for spring do more than smell good — they shift the atmosphere entirely. From the sensual depth of Le Grand Marmont to the airy cleanse of Translucent Shifts, this list covers every spring mood: cozy, coastal, floral, earthy, and everything in between. If you're building out your home fragrance wardrobe this season, start here. Happy spring……and more importantly Happy Taurus season.
