Let’s get lost in the woods together! There is something that is just so magical and sensual about woodsy fragrances. They have a unique ability to make you feel incredibly grounded, sensual, and at times mysterious. I think in many ways woodsy fragrances are the ultimate earth babe scents. Of course there’s a variety of variations to woodsy scents depending on what notes you really enjoy, or what season you are trying to wear them in. Below are a few of my fragrances that include a pretty versatile mix. Enjoy playing; see you in the forest babe.

The Holy Mountain by Apoteker Tepe
Consider this a love letter to a dear friend because it will make you feel warm and grounded, just like a BFF. It boasts notes of pine smoke, incense, balsam fir, labdanum, and guaiacwood. It's deep and woodsy, with just enough smoke to keep things exciting. Perfect for snuggling up, it's sure to ignite a burning sense of love in any relationship.
No.04 Bois de Balincourt by Maison Louis Marie
I love this fragrance for layering; it sits wonderfully on another scent that is earthy. I particularly enjoy it with Persian Oud oil by Edgewater Candles. Its projection isn't very strong, making it best for people who enjoy scents that wear closer to the skin. This scent includes notes of sandalwood, cedarwood, vetiver, nutmeg, and cinnamon. The brand also offers this scent in various other products, including deodorant, body oils, room sprays, and more, so feel free to layer up for a stronger effect.
Mississippi Medicine by D.S. & DURGA
Honestly, nothing feels more earthy than this scent. Whenever I smell it, I'm instantly transported to a place that feels like home. It pulls you in and demands you ground yourself. It features notes of red cedar, frankincense, cypress root, black pine, and birch tar, among others. D.S. & Durga products have fantastic staying power and great longevity. I recommend this scent for moments when you feel out of sorts and need to feel connected to your best self. It’s also great for making out, or whatever.
This perfume is sweet but not the overpowering sugar kind; it's the earth angel kind of sweet. It can lean a little vanilla, but it still feels very woodsy. It features notes of elemi, tobacco leaves, redwood pine, incense, cedar, and vanilla beans. I also think this is a great option for layering if you want to soften up some of your smokier woodsy scents.
Ormaie is perhaps one of my all-time favorite fragrance brands; the bottles are seriously stunning, literal works of art. Ormaie scents have the unique ability to transport you to different parts of your life. Toï is a particularly special scent from them, featuring notes of incense, black pepper, cedar, sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, vanilla, and cypriol. When I first smelled this scent, I was brought back to afternoons playing with old paper dolls in my great-grandmother's basement as a child. It reminds me of wooden panel walls, day old perfume on a blouse, and warm nights. It's warm but not musky, and this scent smells even better as it settles into your clothes and skin.
This is the ultimate spring woods scent; it feels like early April just before the flowers bloom. It boasts notes of cardamom black pepper, sandalwood, cedarwood, fig leaves, and jasmine. I do enjoy this fragrance, but I wish it projected a little more; for me, it's something I find myself having to layer up or layer over something. But I also prefer my fragrance to really project. I think this is a lovely scent for office spaces or casual days around the house when you want something a little elevated but not strong.
Listen, it's a bestseller for a reason; it's good, like really good. It's sensual and spicy, with just enough woodsy notes to keep you grounded. It features notes of sandalwood, cedar, cypress, and myrtle. It comes in a few different varieties depending on how intense you like your fragrance. I love the way this scent feels like I'm floating through a forest. I think it would do wonders for getting you second or third dates!
Wood Sage & Sea Salt by Jo Malone
I love how unique this scent is; it's definitely not the first thing that comes to mind when you think woodsy, although it most definitely is woodsy. It leans very aquatic with notes of ambrette seed, sea salt, and sage. It's very fresh and crisp and would be lovely in summer. I will say that the staying power on this isn't the strongest, as I find a number of Jo Malone products to have the same issue. I would also recommend putting this in a travel-size vial for on-the-go spritzing. Great for spaces where you might need to be a bit more buttoned up.
The ultimate love witch fragrance exists, and it's this one. This scent is warm and sensual but just a little dangerous. It features notes of cinnamon, tonka bean, rum, cedar musk, amber, vanilla, and date. It does have quite the staying and projection power; surely a conversation starter. It's the perfect warm, sweet, woodsy scent for late fall and early winter.
Light your desire with this musky woodsy fragrance. It features notes of amber, cedarwood, and sandalwood. It makes you feel alive when you feel absolutely nothing. I don't find it to be very overpowering, so you could layer it over something else if you'd like or just keep it solo. I also think it's a scent you can wear for a multitude of situations and places, like an office party or friend date.
